Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy focuses on healing emotional pain, processing past experiences, and addressing mental health concerns. Therapists help clients work through past challenges that impact their present well-being.
Coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused. It helps you set and achieve goals, develop strategies, and take action. ADHD Life Coaching specifically supports individuals in understanding their unique ADHD traits, harnessing strengths, and implementing personalised management strategies. Coaching is about self-awareness, accountability, and progress.
What makes ADHD Life Coaching different from Life Coaching?
ADHD Life Coaching combines traditional life coaching skills with specialised knowledge of ADHD. I am trained in ADHD and fully understand its complexities, including executive function challenges, emotional regulation, and the impact of ADHD on daily life.
Seeing you through this ADHD lens means I understand your struggles and can guide you in ways that genuinely align with how your brain works. My approach is compassionate, practical, and tailored to your unique needs.
Do I have to be diagnosed to be coached?
No, a formal diagnosis is not required. Many of my clients either suspect they have ADHD or struggle with similar challenges.
You might relate to ADHD if:
A family member has been diagnosed, and you now see yourself through this lens.
You’ve researched ADHD and recognise many of the symptoms in yourself.
ADHD awareness has increased, and things in your life are finally making sense.
You struggle with impulsivity, time management, procrastination, or emotional sensitivity.
If you are considering an official ADHD diagnosis, I can help you prepare for your appointment to ensure you don’t fall under the radar. Something that happens far too often for women.
Can you provide an ADHD diagnosis?
No. In Australia, only psychiatrists can formally assess ADHD in adults.
However, I can help you prepare for your appointment, ensuring you have all the necessary information and examples to share. ADHD assessments are costly and time-consuming, so being well-prepared is essential for an accurate diagnosis.
Do you only coach women with ADHD?
No, I coach individuals with or without ADHD. While I have a strong focus on supporting women, my coaching is open to anyone looking for support and guidance.
Do you offer coaching in French?
Oui !
